I want to take time out to thank all of my friends, new and old, who have been visiting The Survival Gourmet. Since it’s inception in October 2005, we have had over 1000 unique visitors and over 20,000 hits. I’m thrilled that so many of you are coming and returning. Keep up the good work!
Please allow me to give special thanks to some of my web friends who have been instrumental in getting me started.
Pure Mood from JustPureMood.com has been around since I got started and has been one of my most consistent supporters and posters. She was also a Bloggin Hottie of the month. Her site is ecclectic, warm and funny. I visit there at least once a day.
Rob at White Trash BBQ is one of my BBQ Brethren. We met at BBQ-Brethren.com and he is a man with a true love for “Q”. He is always tinkering and testing in search of Q nirvana.
Luis, the BBQ Junkie, is a local blogger who is on a journey to discover the best BBQ in Southern California. (He hasn’t been to my house yet!) If you are in the L.A. area or just a BBQ lover in general, you need to check out his site.
Sylvie at Soul Fusion Kitchen is a sweet lady who has mastered the art of Soul Food cooking. I learn something new everytime I go to her site and she is another Southern Cali blogger. Lots of good cooking in L.A., y’all!
Tony from Fugetaboutit keeps me sane through laughter. I read his blog every chance I get because he is hilarious! Hats off to the Shrinking Italian. Still waiting on that Veal Calabrese recipe though…
Backyard Chef from The Hampton Smoker is another fellow BBQ Brethren who is taking Q to new heights everyday.
I also have to send a special shout out to all of my brother at BBQ-Brethren.com. I went to this site thinking that I knew how to BBQ. They quickly told me how wrong I was and patiently put me on the path to BBQ nirvana. The site is filled with restaurant owners, caterers, BBQ competitors and backyard chefs who are all more than willing to share their BBQ tips with anyone who has a burning desire to Q.
Finally, I want to thank my wife MrsMista who is kind enough to indulge me when I am engaged with my two loves cooking and computers. (She calls my laptop and my smoker, my “girlfriends”.). She visits everyday and clicks all of my links (something you all should be doing) and supports me in every way possible. I am truly lucky to have her.
I hope you will continue to visit The Survival Gourmet and if you have any suggestions or comments please post them or you can email me at bigmista@thesurvivalgourmet.com .
Thanks again!
